MaxMara’s Spring Summer 2016 Weekend collection is an exploration of styles across the globe. Invoking the spirit of travel in us all, it’s an enticing trip inspired by the worlds most beautiful destinations.
Chaperoning your senses all the way to Europe, Australia and the exotic Fiji Islands the collection offers a genius assemblage influenced by the jet-setting woman. Think a wardrobe that moves from casual chic to glam charm; from day to night. Armed with statement pieces like the slim trench, double breasted blazer, boyfriend jeans or sundresses and jungle print pyjamas, you’re whisked on splendid tom-boyish journey that still remains true to the female silhouette.
Those pieces aren’t the only statements throughout the collection; The monochrome star patterns -that replaced their iconic hound’s-tooth print- combined with micro-floral prints or nautical stripes supplemented by needlework and classy details stand out even more. Evident of an- around the world- vision.
Inspiration was also taken from big city street styles by using denims and shades that shift from blue to white. The Mediterranean influence is shown in the choice of colours such as turquoise and orange used in colour block, brushstroke and check print effects.
Watermelon pink and cedar green stood out as some of the other colour choices; looking like they were inspired by Italian dessert palettes they were featured with jacquard materials and floral prints. Dresses bedecked in tropical displays in a concoction of orange, mint and fuchsia tones were also screaming island destinations.
The trench to be worn with a range of opposing pieces like, printed skirts, wide tunics, long floral dresses or pyjama pants, the jacket paired with matching trousers mixed with jeans or long skirts for a more youthful look and the dreamy white cotton hand embroidered dress were weekend winners.
